When you are in your 20s, the world of fashion is at your feet. Generally, the hippest designs from the worlds hottest fashion houses are perfect for the 20-something fashion darlings. Especially for individuals just entering the working world, fresh out of college and setting out on your own for the first time, fashion is a great way for 20 year olds to express their personality and individuality during this period of time. The years of your 20s are years to experiment with fashion so that you can develop a specific taste for you future years. Furthermore, this is the time where individuals usually experience a variety of fashion flops. Think of your 20s as a growing period for your fashion sense, and any missteps are just happy mistakes.

When you are dressing in your 20s, be sure to remember the limits of your body. Regardless of your age, you should dress to fit your body type so that the clothing you wear will look best for you. Remember, even though you are 20 does not give you the opportunity to wear whatever you want whenever you want. Your first concern should be finding clothing that will showcase your body in a positive light. Just because you can buy a piece of designer clothing does not mean you should! Remember, most designer clothing is designed with supermodels in mind. Not many of us can pull off these looks, so spend your money wisely on items that will best benefit you.

One important things for 20-somethings to remember when starting their wardrobe is to have a great outfit appropriate for an interview. An interview outfit can be one of the most stressful outfits you have put together, so give it a great deal of time and thought. Also, be prepared to invest some money in quality pieces for your interview that will allow you to wear these times year after year. You also will want to invest in some classic pieces for the office so that you are properly attired for what is probably your first job. Look into a quality suit with coordinating pieces that include pants, skirt, and a jacket. This versatility will allow you to create many outfits using three staple pieces.

Most 20-somethings enjoy hitting the clubs, bars, or enjoying the night life. You only live once, so you should enjoy this time and have the proper clothing for painting the town red. Find great camisoles, sexy heels, and super mini skirts.

no specifics. obvious choices (minis, heels) for clubbing. what about married stay at home 20 somethings, who want to look mature and pulled together, but still age appropriate. sort of vague.

I agree with Amanda, I'm 20 something but married with a kid, I want to be able to dress in great clothes but not look like a total tramp, I only fit in juniors clothes so its really hard to get the look I want, specifics would have been a lot more helpful on what I should be looking for.

And while I agree that one should dress for their body type, it would have been nice if the artical could have been more specific on what short, plus-sized 20-somethings should wear. Most options available to us is frumpy.
